The Century Mark: Celebrating the Yellow Boy Legacy
The Winchester Model 94 Centennial '66, serial 26322, is a commemorative lever-action rifle produced in 1966. Winchester introduced this model to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the company's first successful lever gun, the legendary brass-framed Model 1866 "Yellow Boy." Although designed to mimic the aesthetic of the 1866 pattern, this commemorative version is built directly on the modern post-1964 Model 94 action. To pay homage to the original rifle, Winchester engineers utilized a gold-plated receiver and forend cap, combined with a traditional, heavy 20" octagon barrel. This run was highly popular among Winchester enthusiasts during the mid-1960s, representing the very beginning of the factory's modern commemorative series.
Condition and Action Highlights
Action: Lever-action top-ejecting system. The mechanical action cycles correctly and locks up firmly.
Condition: Fair condition. The rifle shows clear signs of handling and use but is well cared for. The brass plating on the receiver displays distinct wear and thinning along the edges, corners, and high spots. No notable gouges, deep scratches, or abuse.
Woodwork: The straight walnut stock and forearm are in good condition. The wood shows minor handling marks and superficial scuffs, but it is free of structural cracks or deep gouges.
Bore: 20-inch octagon barrel. The bore is in good condition with distinct factory rifling.
