The most significant mechanical shift in the M2 is the redesigned booster (Nielsen device) system, which now utilizes the "unofficial industry standard" piston. This allows owners to interchange pistons with those from major competitors like SilencerCo, Rugged, and Dead Air. By utilizing a high-efficiency aluminum monocore and a tool-free rear cap, YHM created a lightweight, user-serviceable silencer that caters to the modern shooter who values cross-platform modularity without the premium price tag.
