The Armor-Clad Breacher: Space-Age Polymer Over Steel
The Remington Model 887 Nitro Mag Tactical, serial ARM035328, is one of the most visually aggressive and technologically unique pump-action shotguns ever produced by Big Green. Introduced in 2009 to compete directly with specialized waterfowl and tactical utility guns, the 887 is built around a solid steel receiver and a hammer-forged barrel that are completely encased in a .041" thick glass-filled nylon overmold using Remington's proprietary ArmorLokt process. This impenetrable synthetic skin seals the internal steel components in a vault that is entirely impervious to saltwater, rust, and extreme mud. Underneath its distinctive "truck-tire" tread aesthetic, the 887 drastically departed from traditional 870 architecture by utilizing a fast-cycling rotating bolt head with dual locking lugs. Capable of digesting everything from light target loads to devastating 3.5-inch Super Magnum shells, the Tactical variant was engineered out of the box as a dedicated breaching and home-defense powerhouse.
Condition and Action Highlights
Action: Pump-action with dual steel action bars and a rotating bolt head. Features a massive, highly ergonomic triangular slide release button on the upper half of the trigger guard face that is effortlessly manipulated even while wearing thick tactical gloves.
Finish/Armor: Black ArmorLokt overmold. The exterior shell is in excellent condition, entirely free of the superficial gouges or separating seams that occasionally plagued high-use units. The molded tire-tread texturing remains sharp and high-traction.
Muzzle Device: Factory equipped with a prominent Remâ„¢ Choke tactical extended cylinder choke. This ported choke minimizes muzzle rise and features an aggressive, jagged "spiked" standoff bezel originally designed for anchoring the muzzle against door frames during tactical breaching operations.
Upgrades & Accessories: Outfitted with an integrated ProTec weaponlight secured to the forward barrel clamp rail for immediate low-light threat identification. Includes the factory +2 magazine tube extension and a thick, energy-absorbent SuperCell recoil pad.
Bore: 18.5-inch barrel; the internal bore is mirror-clean and pristine, protected expertly by the external ArmorLokt envelope.
